Sandringham 8 Player Croquet Set. Jaques finest quality croquet set. This superb set continues a tradition of excellence and high achievement. Included in the set are two of each of the four different top-of-the-range mallets, all recently supplied to top international players. There are two Laser Tuftex LV and two quality Championship models, all four of which are made from lignum vitae, the heaviest wood known and the only timber that will not float in water. The greater density of the wood allows a slightly narrower section mallet, which helps with the playing of difficult hoop shots. The two standard Laser Tuftex and Association mallets are also top models and they are all designed with traditional octagonal hickory handles which are fitted with super soft Carbotec grips. The set of Association hoops and hoop drill are the only ones chosen for Croquet Association competitions, and the set of eight matched Championship balls are the finest available. The Championship corner flags of course mark the corners of the court, and the white yard line pegs show the yard line, from where a ball re-enters the playing area after leaving the lawn. There is a beautiful gold-lined hand-colored winning post to show the order of play, hoop clips to show which hoop a player has reached, and a set of ball markers to record the ball positions. The wooden smasher mallet is used to drive in the hoop drill, after each hoop site has been watered.
